The Southern Skinny-Dipping Society

After the closing of La Pines, a small, clothing optional resort and club in southeastern Louisiana operating for more than fifty years, we, the former members of the club decided to form our own non-landed group dedicated to networking and keeping in touch with each other, and finding ways to meet and enjoy the pleasure of clothing-optional activities.

At this point, we are a small group developing structure, organization, and our own unique vibe. Our goal is to continue enjoying clothing-optional activities when possible as a non-landed club, meet for clothed activities when necessary, and work toward the ultimate goal of having a landed club once again.

Our philosophy is simple. We are a group of people who enjoy sharing the wonderful relaxation and joy that comes from the shedding of clothes outdoors with friends, and the innocent exuberance and refreshment born of the skinny-dip, so much a part of our southern traditions. With the stresses of contemporary life, the technologies that seem to drive us forward at an ever hectic pace, and the everyday worries that most people deal with, the ability to kick-back and relax in such a simple and pleasurable way among like-minded friends in a world apart, for even a little while, brings about benefits for mind and body that one can only appreciate through experience.

And while we enjoy skinny-dipping and the freedom of casual nudity among friends, it is what that simple nudity accomplishes that is ultimately the most important dynamic for us. For in it we find that barriers fall away with a greater honesty and tolerance for each other; people are more relaxed and accepting, while a new and unique social vibe is created. In short, everyone is easygoing, cool with each other, and cool with the scene. Indeed, we work to be a non-drama group, making relaxation and fun our focus. It's as simple as that.

Unfortunately, since the terms "clothing optional" and "nudism" tend to be associated with sexually charged environments and activity for many people, we should mention what we are not: we are not a "swingers" group or sex club; for those seeking those environments, there are no doubt diverse venues easily discovered for those purposes. As nudists, we adhere to the principles and standards of the American Association for Nude Recreation and work to maintain a like philosophy and environment. We love to have fun, but we draw the line at obnoxious behavior, whatever it may be. We aim for a hassle-free and "non-drama" environment. We enjoy kickin'-back and our time together. Again, simple.
